Cleaning Up, Cleaning All
And the rainy days are here again. So to avoid me being paranoid during rainy nights, we decided to have a general cleaning of the house. Some of our things that are a bit heavy were put on the maid’s room. And the heaviest of them all is their closet. It took 4 men to carry it. Good thing that we already moved it upstairs, at least now, I am at peace with the rain and I can sleep (really sleep) during rainy nights.
Now we have some more small things to clear out like the cup boards and other decors. Good thing that I already throw away most of my Christmas lights, less clutter. But of course, if ever my kids will ask me to decorate the house this coming season, I’ll just buy white led christmas lights, a much safer alternative. Some of my Christmas decors are already stashed (neatly of course) in the maid’s room so no need to worry.
Counting Thread Count
Whenever I encounter bed linens, I see the word thread count, and I am totally clueless when it comes to thread count. So what is THREAD COUNT?
Based on my reading on different sites, thread count is the number of thread, horizontal and vertical per inch of a certain fabric. There are many factors that is included like the kind of thread used or the thickness of the thread used. When it comes to bed linens, the higher the thread count, the better. Why? because when there is more thread on a square inch of a thread, that means that the thread is finer which will result to a smoother fabric.
So when you buy a bed linen that has a thread count of 200 or more, expect a higher amount will reflect on barcode scanner, because as mentioned above, the higher the thread count, the softer, the better. So how many threads your linens have?
Making Your Home Dengue Free
With so many news about dengue, a mom should know what it takes to make their house dengue carrier mosquitoes free.
The thing about dengue is that mosquitoes carry them, so when there is no mosquitoes, it follows that the case of dengue will decrease. That is why the main solution of the government to prevent the increase of dengue cases is to eliminate the growth of this mosquitoes.
Fact: Mosquitoes that carry the virus dengue lives and lay egg on water. And not just ordinary water. If you think they like living in dirty water or in cannals and feeling safe because there is not one near your area, think again. Mosquitoes love laying their eggs on clean water. On water from your drums or plastic containers. So what is the best way to make your home dengue free?
DON’T STOCK WATER ON ANY CONTAINERS.. aside from your bottle containers in your fridge.. or when you need to, make sure that every container is tightly closed.
