Learning To Read Music Helps Kids Development

It is no secret there is a causal link between learning music at an early age and the brain development of a child. If you look back over the years, many of the young musical prodigies in the past have excelled in other areas.

The type of brain development curated by learning a musical instrument are those that are functional also to language and reasoning, this is why it is also much easier for young children to learn a second language.

It is said a preschool age is the best time for your children to get to grips with a new language and this is the same case for musical instruments. Music in itself is a language, the notes are the auditory side and the sheet music its scripture.

Students of the arts from an early age are also more likely to be creative thinkers and are able to analyse a situation with a far more inquisitive disposition, not to mention the early exposure to performance relieving the stress later in life.

Even ideologies such as team work come much quicker to a child that has had the experience in working with others such as in bands and in recreating musical scores with others.

One of the greatest gifts you can give a child though is that of self-expression. Using a musical instrument to express yourself is a healthy outlet of emotion meaning a child who has learned this practice will later in life depend more on positive outlets than negative ones.

Couple’s Corner: Sexy Pregnancy

Rodliz’s Nest

It’s mother’s theme this week at couples corner. I want to talk about my pregnancy with Sati, since Liz is one of her godmother.

It was February 14, 2009 when Sati was made. It was an unexpected pregnancy (like my two other boys). We thought I would not get pregnant since I’m still safe (meaning I am not ovulating yet). So when we found out about the pregnancy, we were surprised and don’t know what to do. After a few weeks, we accepted it and that was the most beautiful thing that happened to me. Beautiful in the sense that I was really pretty during my pregnancy. Must be that Sati shared some of her gorgeousness to me, once she was out of my tummy, I am back to being ugly LOL.

It was the easiest pregnancy since I did not expereinced morning sickness as difficult as I did when I was pregnant with the three boys. It was also the sexiest because I was able to wear sexy and revealing maternity clothes, not to mention stylish too haha.

So that was one of my many pics during my pregnancy with Sati. Aside from that, that was the only pregnancy where hubby and me did not argue haha.. I guess Sati is our lucky charm. LOL Actually she IS my lucky charm, I got to know a lot of great people because of her (read: Marce Club)

Couples Corner: WFH

Rodliz’s Nest

I am so sorry Marce Liz, I am so late in posting my entry this week. It says we have to talk about work, work and work. Or do we have? Er, reading it again, Liz says that this entry is not about work but if we as a couple talk about our jobs as the day ends.

Hubby is a software developer and he always say that his first love is the pc (and now mac LOL). It is seldom that you will see him not in front of his PC. And since I started blogging, I am too is always on the computer. Would you believe that sometimes, we would send ims to each other, even though we were just some meters away from each other. It’s not that we were busy to talk to each other, it’s a play thing for us. He would buzz and ask for a date when in fact he is just in our bedroom. It was really fun. And so do we talk about our jobs? Yes, specially if there is something trivial or funny on his job. On my part, he knows everything that is happening in blogniverse, how much paid post I have or how much will be on my paypal.

It really is important that couples update each other about their job. Specially to couples where the husband work in an office, you have to know how much stressed he is so you’ll know how to treat it. Maybe a little hair play will do (now, what kind of hair, go ask Marce Liz).
