How To Keep Your Closet Organized

This is the most organized my closet can get. And my OCD is not forgiving but it knows now how to cope.

Closet is my weakness. There was a time in my life that I’d go crazy whenever I see my closet disorganized. And by crazy, I mean throwing out everything inside the closet and re arranging it again. as time flies, I learned to cope up with having  a husband who does not what’s the difference between folded clothes and crumpled one. ANd he loves putting anything he fancies on his part of the closet, yes even candy wrappers and what not.. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I can find cigars bundles on our closet.

I have learned how to keep my closet organized without sacrificing my sanity and be more accommodating to my husband. To keep the closet organized, divide the closet according to use. A layer should goes for the house clothes and a layer for outdoor clothes. You can also dividers to make it happen. Another thing, specially with socks, place a container, a box or a cylinder for it.

Always keep in mind that using one colored clothes hanger can make your closet neat and organized.

The Iron Lady

Finally, after months (or maybe a year) of avoiding it, I said yes and did it. Ironing is my weakness. I am multi tasker and when you are ironing clothes, you can’t do anything do other things. Unlike when you are cooking, you can clean the house while doing so, or you can even blog. The same goes with doing the laundry, you can cook, blog and even clean the house while the clothes are spinning. The reason why I love doing the laundry so much. And yes, that is also the reason why I never like washing the dishes, the same with ironing, you can multi task! If only there is a device that can record your thoughts while doing those chores, at least you can “blog” while ironing.

Another thing I do not like about ironing is that you can’t wash your hands right after doing it. And the the iron being hot is not a good idea too for someone who sweats a lot like me. Good thing the weather is cooperating.

I managed to iron  most of hubby’s work clothes and the kids school uniform. And as I have said, it is my weakness, thank goodness my husband is not meticulous with his clothes.

Scotch Brite Steel Wool

A product that is super woth the price… it exceeded my expectations from it. For only 40 Php you can buy this super durable, rust free Scotch Brite Steel Wool! Why do I say so? Well, this Scotch Brite steel wool (the photo above) was bought and used a year ago. Used when cleaning stainless stell utensils, like casserole and more but don’t use this for wood furniture like dvd cabinet because it will surely scratch its surface. Usually or other steel wools last for only a month or so, but this, a year and with no rust at all.

Scotch- Brite Home

I am proud to say that my house is a Scotch-Brite house. We used this cleaning tool in almost everything, from our sink to our bathroom and the gloves we use to protect our hands.

Most of the times, I buy sponge to wash the dishes and as always, I buy more than I need since I also give some to my mother. And the lady in the barcode scanners often ask me if I have a mini store of sponge or what. I just have to smile, what can I say, I am really a fan.

Washing The Dishes

If there is one household chore that I hate so much, that is washing the dishes. Dishwasher is not a necessary appliance, to most people it’s luxury and to oldies, it means being lazy. When I was a kid, my grandmother forces us to do the dishes, I guess that is the reason why now, I don’t like doing it. It reminds of my childhood (which is not that good) and reminds me how it feels being in prison. I know it’s not  a big deal of a chore, but sometimes, I don’t feel like doing it. But I do not have a choice. I think I was too young to be exposed to such thinking that if you can’t do anything about just accept it.

And so I grew up with so much dislike to dish washing. Last year when I have no helper yet, our dirty dishes piles up in our kitchen sink.  And if we have nothing more to use, that is the only time that I will wash it. I was so stressed out with it that my face needed anti aging face cream.Yes, my face looked a lot older than my age because of dirty dishes piling in our kitchen sink. I almost resort to using plastic cups and plastic papers, if not for my love for the environment. Good thing now, I have two helpers, so dish washing is the least on my worries. What’s my favorite house chore? That will be the topic of my next post.
