When To Change Appliance

Appliances is like weight loss supplements, once you found the perfect one for you, it will take years before you change it. Years of course depends on the type of appliances. So do you know when is the right time to ditch the old appliances? Well, I asked around and some appliances store shared with me the life expectancy of certain appliances.

Dishwasher takes 10 years before it starts throwing off your plates. Just kidding, but after 10 years, consider changing your dishwasher.

Refrigerator takes 11 to 12 year before it starts malfunctioning. So before it stops cooling your food, buy a new one on its 1oth birthday.

Microwave can last up to 10 years. SO on its 11th year, say goodbye to your popcorn, not unless you already bought a new one.

So far those are the appliances I asked the last time I went to the nearest appliance store here. Will post more on  my next visit.

How Washing Machine Works

A washing machine is made up of 3 parts:

First is a heavy motor that spins laundry.

The second part is a balancing system to keep it in place, which is composed of a metal frame that holds the motor and concrete weight to balance the washing machine’s movements…

As well as three pulleys that counter balance each other so that the machine does not shake.

Towards the bottom of the washing machine, there is a damping system that are attached to the washing machine frame via springs. This system squeezes two pads against the black metal frame to absorb some of the force from the vibrations.

And the third and main part, which does all the washing are two steel tubs composed of …

An outer tub, which seals in all the waterand is bolted to the body of the washer and …

An inner tub, which holds the clothesand is perforated at the sides so that water can leave.

This inner tub is attached to the gearbox, which is attached to the motor. In the middle of the inner tub is the agitator that keeps the clothes moving, to make it clean.

It is mainly this movement that makes your clothes clean.

Simple yet efficient. That’s how your mechanical lavandera works.

Price Of Inverter Air Conditioner

I have been talking about the benefits of inverter type air conditioners. We know now that it can lower our electricity consumption. What we do not know is how much do we need to shed out to have an inverter air con in our rooms. Do we need to take out a loan so we can buy one? If so, do you need to look for free credit score checker in order to see if your credit score will allow you to take a loan? I look around the appliance stores near us and what I learned that there are more than a dozen types of inverter air con, from type of brands to different type of models.

From a local selling site, an inverter air con unit will cost from 30,000 PhP to 40,000 PhP. If you convert that in dollars, that’s $700 to $900+. A typical air con will cost you 10,000 PhP or even less, that’s $200+. They say that when you use inverter aircon, you can save at least 30% of your electric consumption. So for example you monthly bill is 7,000 PhP. If you buy an inverter air con, you will save, 2100 PhP. In a year, you already saved the amount you spend for your aircon and in the coming years, you were able to save more.

So I guess, inverter air cons is a good investment. Now I am off to doing my job so I save enough for inverter air con. I plan to buy one next year before summer.

Inverter Air Conditioner

I first heard about inverter air conditioner from a paid post. I don’t have the slightest idea about it and since I have to write about it, I read some articles and wikis about inverter air con. It took me an hour or so before I finally understood what is the difference between inverter air con and the traditional one. It all boils down to compressor. Technically, I am still at lost, but in a way, I knew something about how it can decrease our electricity usage. It has something to do with compressors, a term that I still have to learn.

The farthest I can go with compressors is the fact that it is the one responsible for temperature control. It is the one responsible to make our rooms cooler or warmer. The compressor turns on to meet the desired temperature and when it does, it turns off. That is how it works in typical air conditioner. In an air conditioner with inverter compressor technology, instead of shutting of and starting every time it needs to change the temperature, it just slows down. That is the main reason why inverter air cons consume less energy.
