The Benefits of Portable Air Conditioners

The portable air conditioner has always been underestimated and considered only as a second choice to the bigger air conditioners that need to be installed. However there are many benefits in getting the portable kind.

Air conditioners that are portable are a lot more affordable than the traditional type that has to be installed. Just the fact that you won’t have to create a hole through your wall and a buy specialized socket to power a traditional air conditioner means that you are saving more money with the portable kind. And it when it comes to your electric bill, portable air conditioners are a lot more energy efficient, using only a fraction of what a traditional air conditioner would use. Portable air conditioners are also lot more convenient simply because you can bring them to any room that needs it. You won’t have to buy several air conditioners when you can just move one around.

What Is Mist Cooling?

In a few government buildings I have been, I noticed that most are using Mist Cooling instead of air conditioning, although I noticed too that they don’t use it when there are expensive electronics in the area like hp printers. Is it cheaper? And is Mist Cooling more effective than air conditioning?

The technology behind Mist Cooling is creating a fog ultra fine water droplets from water. Specially designed misting nozzle is used here. Contrary to what people believes, Misting won’t make you wet. The fog produced or the water droplets produce are so tiny that it quickly evaporates in the air, making the air cooler.

Mist cooling is used on outdoors and big indoors. This is used in factories, in big establishments where air conditioning would be too expensive and it also used in industrial plants to suppress dusting. So I guess mist cooling is a cheaper way of cooling the air. I cannot say if it is more effective than air conditioning but it is more cheaper.

Air Coolers

We were talking about air conditioner and air coolers and the difference of the two. Of course the price is the major difference. Which led us to our question, why is it that air coolers are way cheaper than air conditioner?

The usual air cooler is not worth a bullion(precious metals such as gold or silver in the form of bars or ingots), it is somewhere between $70 to $100, while an air conditioner is somewhere between $200 and up. with the price difference of the two, is it practical to go for air coolers instead of air conditioner?

From my readings, I have learned that air coolers are devise that cools the air using water or ice. And from the looks of it, air conditioner is still the best option if you want to be cool amidst the scorching heat of summer. And some even suggest that instead of buying an air cooler, buy a fan instead and just put an ice on its back, it works almost the same as air cooler.
