Tickle Me Plant, The Plant That Moves

Amazing how this grass has given this kids some fun. It’s everywhere here and we call it Makahiya. The word Makahiya comes from the root word HIYA which means shy. The plants shy away when somebody touch them. Yeah, in a way, these plants are very ticklish.

Now A Gardener

I will be a gardener soon! I got my hands on Enrico, Enriched organically soil good for planting. Well, actually it was not called as such, not a soil. But the effect of it on plants is very promising. I just have to try. For gardeners out there, maybe yu should give this a try too. What you know, when you tried, you might not want to go back to soil agan, just like having a garage door openers, once you tried it, there is no going back to manual opening. Anyway, this morning, I lpanted my first herbs using Enrico. Tomorrow, I will read the pamphlet that comes with it so I will know how to take care of my herbs. I ma planning to plant more herbs this week and I hope I am successful as a gardener. wish me luck!

Organic Gardening

Organic gardening is the use of organic materials to help the plants grow. Nowadays, it is gaining more and more popularity, just like ugg boots, more and more people want to try it and after doing so, they are loving it. That is the same effect organic gardening has to people. Once you tried, there is no reason not to love it.

There are so many advantage of organic gardening. For one, if you try it, you are assured that the veggies you are eating are well grown and not pesticides infected. You are also helping the environment as you don’t anything that will harm it. Aside from that, you are maximizing the ecological balance and in that way your harvest is more abundance.

Small Garden

I have been planning to create a small garden in front of the apartment. I want to plant herbs such as Basil, Mint, Oregano, Rosemary and Chives. The only that’s keeping me from doing it is time. Time to buy the plants and time to look for nice pots and of course soil that I will use.

There’s a plant nursery in Quezon City but I am not sure when my husband will drive me there. Hopefully even before the rainy day starts.

Growing Old

I am only on my late twenties (oh that is not so nice to hear LOL). I am thinking what are the things I can do when I am in my 50’s. By then, my first born will be in his late twenties and my youngest girl is on her twenties. For sure, their life will no longer be centered on our house. Hubby and I will be left alone in the house. We can play online slot machines to give us something to do. We can also play other online games. By then, maybe I am no longer working or I no longer have my full time online jobs. We will be spending more time outside the house than sitting in front of the computer.

So what are the few things an old woman can do at home?

Gardening is one of the best activity to take the boredom away. I can plant tomatoes or any vegetable I want. I can also have a small garden of herbs and spices. I can also try orchid gardening or even flower gardening. Based on my previous gardening experience, my hands can do that.I may not have the hands of my mom, but in a way, I do have a green thumb. Oh I haven’t told you but my mom ‘s hands are so good on gardening and planting. She only need to throw a seed and it will grow. Her hand is magical! And would you believe, she was successful in growing fruit trees that are not so easy to plant?

Aside from gardening, I can also do house painting. That is one of my dream activity. I love anything construction jobs. I can paint our fence or the whole house. And fro sure, that is something that my husband will enjoy too. And of course, when we’re both tired doing that stuff, we can take a rest and play our favorite online games.
