Wedding Favors

I am always amazed when I see houses where they used wedding souvenirs as one of their decorations. I have nothing against wedding favors, in fact I have seen more than a hundred of beautiful wedding favors. The thing is, there were homes that I have been where it is more like a clutter than decors. It is very traditional here, to display all the gifts and souvenirs your receive. But sometimes, er, most of the times, homemakers go over board. Can you just imagine a cabinet full of wedding favors and birthday souvenirs? Me, I can’t.

But if the wedding favor will be as pretty as the one above, I will gladly display it everywhere!

Aquarium Beliefs

They say that having an aquarium can bring good luck at home. I even watched a show where they discuss what kind of fish can be put in the aquarium. They even said that we can put some gold coins on it to attract money. Of course, we have to be cautious and should clean the coins first. Let me drink some coffee first before and I will share with some of the things I learned from this certain TV show.

I’m back.

And yes, about the aquarium thing. I learned that the color of the fish plays important role if you want your aquarium attract good luck. They say that you should invest on fish in the colors of blue, green, yellow. You should not pet a red fish as red signifies fire. Fire and water does not go together. Another thing, the best place for an aquarium is to put it near the door. Do not put an aquarium inside your bedroom. Because of the bubbling activity of the water, aquarium is really busy, and placing it in your bedroom is not a good idea. Bedroom should be relaxed. Lastly (since I still have to finish my breakfast), always put odd number of fish on your aquarium and put a black fish to absorb all negative energies.

I am not an expert on aquariums and beliefs surrounding it, I am just sharing.

Wall Decors

One of my friend commented that our wall looks like a baby announcements card. She says that all the squares and circles and rectangles on our wall make it look like a baby card. It’s true, our wall looks like a nursery. Ever since I had a kid I always make sure to put something on the wall to help them in their development. I have done numerous ABCDs complete with illustrations. I have lost count on how many circles I cut and pasted on the wall.

Now I am in the process of creating 3 alphabet posters. One for my niece, one for our bedroom and one on our living room. I will also make numbers, from 1 to 10. And will have to cut circle, square, rectangle and more shapes for Sati. Yes, for now, our wall decors are limited to those, ABCDs, numbers and shapes, but who’s complaining? definitely not me.

How To Store Christmas Decors

Now that Holiday season has ended and all things are back to normal, we home makers has to face another season, that is, keeping away the decors and all. It’s tiring to take them all out and it’s tiring to store them but of course the feeling of seeing it, making our house more special is priceless. So how to start undecorating? Is it the Christmas Tree first or the lights first? Or maybe the garland.

My suggestion is that you separate each decors base on where it is decorated. Also separate it base on colors. For example, red balls on the Christmas tree should go to a plastic bag labeled red balls. Green balls should be on plastic bag labeled green balls. And all these plastic bags full of balls should be in a big container labeled CHRISTMAS TREE.

As always, proper labeling is the key. Sorting it out makes it easier for you. Aside from it will give you more room, it would also be an advantage the next Christmas.

Merry Christmas House

As I have said earlier, I did not indulge in decorating the house this season. I just put some garlands on our stair case and some on our window.I cannot put up the Christmas Tree as early (or as late) as today as Chico would tear it down. I will put it tomorrow, before Noche Buena.

So far that’s what I got here, some garlands and balls on the stairs and the Christmas socks I sew last year. Though I already got four kids now, I was too busy to sew another sock. Santa will understand (I hope). But the kids loved it and now they call our house a Merry Christmas House.
