Reimagined and ready for action, The Powerpuff Girls will return to Cartoon Network in an all-new series on Saturday, April 9, just days after its global premiere in the U.S.

On that day, six brand-new episodes of The Powerpuff Girls will be showcased starting at 10am, and 15 all-new episodes of Cartoon Network’s best loved shows – Regular Show, Adventure Time and We Bare Bears – will be shown on the same day from 8am.

In addition, every Turner channel in the Philippines (including Warner TV, Boomerang, Toonami, truTV and TCM) as well as partner channel TV5 will be broadcasting Powerpuff Girls content on the same morning. The series will also be supported via video and games on the Cartoon Network Watch and Play and Cartoon Network Anything apps, and on CartoonNetworkAsia.com.

“The Powerpuff Girls will be simply everywhere! Whatever channel you turn to on April 9, and whatever screen you’re using, there will be Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles saving the day before bedtime! We’ve waited a long time to see these super-cute and super-fierce girls return to action, and the all-new series marks the homecoming for one of Cartoon Network’s best loved shows,” said Mark Eyers, Content Head of Cartoon Network in Asia Pacific.

Superhero-sisters Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup are widely known as The Powerpuff Girls. Together, they protect the beautiful, bustling metropolis of Townsville and its citizens’ sinister evildoers, intent on taking over. Juggling school, homework and a regular parade of villains is no easy task, but the girls are more than up for the challenge. Armed with supercool superpowers and topnotch teamwork, The Powerpuff Girls, with the occasional assistance from Professor Utonium and the Mayor of Townsville, will soon prove to their hometown and the world that it is possible to save the world before bedtime.

One of Cartoon Network’s most enduring original series, the initial run of The Powerpuff Girls, created by Craig McCracken, premiered in 1996 and earned two Emmy® Awards along with five nominations and countless animation honors throughout its 78 episodes. The series also spawned a feature film with Warner Bros. Pictures in 2002.

Don’t miss the return of the trio back-to-back with new episodes of Regular Show, Adventure Time, We Bare Bears, Clarence and many more, non-stop all day from 8am only on the number one kids’ channel Cartoon Network. Once the hysteria calms down, the full series of The Powerpuff Girls will kick in from Monday, May 2 at 5:45pm, as part of Laughternoons every weekday.

Cartoon Network is available on SKYCable Channel 43, SKYCable HD Channel 178, Cignal Channel 35, Cignal HD Channel 110, Destiny Cable (Digital) Channel 43, Destiny Cable (Analog) Channel 51 and Cable Link Channel 26, Dream Satellite Channel 15.

Beat the Summer Heat: 5 Ways to Make Your Air-Conditioner Summer Ready

As the blaze of the summer heat arrives, all of us will start looking for places and ways to cool down. By midday, some people will find themselves mall-hopping just to escape the hot temperatures. The last thing one wants is to turn on one’s air-conditioner only to find that it doesn’t work. When an air-conditioning unit sits idle for months, collecting dirt and dust, a bit of maintenance is needed to get it running properly.

This is why it’s important to check your units before temperatures get hotter.
Now that summer is fast approaching you have to ask yourself, is your air-conditioning unit up for a blazing challenge? Electrolux, a global leader in home appliances, has prepared a simple checklist to ensure your air-conditioner is summer ready.

Clean or replace the filters. This is the simplest but most important step in maintaining your unit. It’s advisable to regularly clean this at least twice a year and additionally when you see dust collecting. Clogged or dirty filters block the airflow. Having clean filters means you are not obstructing airflow making your unit more energy efficient.

Clear the debris. Remove the leaves and debris from the base of the unit’s condenser and make sure the drain is clear. You can use a vacuum cleaner or a rag to clean the outer part of the condenser. Doing so means you won’t be recirculating the dust in the room.

Check ducts and seals. Air ducts are tubes used to connect the air conditioning system to a room. Leaks can slow down and may prevent air from being supplied properly in your home. Check for any leaks to ensure energy efficiency. Seals can easily break when exposed to moisture. To fix this problem, use mastic tapes to seal.

Use few heat-producing appliances. As the heat of summer arrives, it’s best to avoid using heat-producing appliances indoors while your air-conditioner is on. Your unit is already battling the heat from outside your home. If you add heat inside, you’re making your air-conditioner work overtime! Try cooking outside using the grill or letting your hair air dry instead of always using the hair dryer. This will give your air conditioner an easy time to serve you better every day.

Test your air conditioner. Let it dry thoroughly and then turn the power to the condenser back on by following this step. First, turn the thermostat in your home to OFF. Then turn on the power at both the disconnect box and at the main panel. Lastly, switch the thermostat to cool. If your air conditioner is not running properly, it may be time to call the professionals for help.

“All of our design and product development is based on the philosophy of Thoughtful Design. We want to give you top-tier appliances and unparalleled customer service to make your life better” shares Andrea Pionilla, the Country Marketing Manager of Electrolux Philippines.

Spotify Teams Up With Leading Doctor to Reveal Perfect Playlist Childbirth

Spotify has partnered with Dr. Moritz to create an ideal Birthing Playlist that is scientifically designed (and delivery room tested and approved) to accompany women through childbirth. There are over 90,000 “Push Playlists” on Spotify and renowned New York OB-GYN Dr. Jacques Moritz reports that 70% of his patients prepare playlists specifically for going into labor.

“Music strongly influences our central nervous system’s limbic system which manages our memories, emotions, and how we deal with fear and pain,” Dr. Moritz explained. “It makes sense that women would turn to music during childbirth as a source of comfort and strength. In addition, hospitals, particularly delivery rooms, can be noisy and disconcerting – a good playlist helps distract mothers from these sounds and better manage fear and pain, leading to a more positive delivery experience.”

The playlist mirrors the birthing experience, starting with songs that are slow and mellow, then transitioning into songs with a stronger beat for when it’s time to push, and concluding with Bach’s ‘Unaccompanied Cello Suite #1’ performed by the legendary Yo-Yo Ma for the moment women first meet their newborns.
