BLIMS Furniture 40th Anniversary

BLIMS Fine Furniture is known as the furniture store that takes pride in pieces with timeless designs that match the needs of the customer. Now, as BLIMS celebrates its 40th year, it is set to unveil collections that complement the diverse style preference of Filipino customers. As one of the country’s largest one-stop shops and ready-to-deliver furniture items, BLIMS showrooms feature collections that are functional and thematic.

The Urban Living is every urban dweller’s solution to living and storage problems; while The Condo Collection is for condominium residents. This collection offers stylish yet functional furniture pieces that are perfect for limited spaces. The Sofabed Hub moves beyond the typical bi-fold sofa bed as it showcases a broad range of styles and mechanisms to suit the needs of the customer. Meanwhile, for customers who prioritize a good night’s sleep, BLIMS has the Mattress Gallery, a relaxing space where they can try mattresses from the top five brands in the country, including Ambassador, King Koil, Salem, Slumberland, and Uratex Premium.

BLIMS also offers a wide range of style vignettes such as Timeless Elegance, which includes a plush leather sofa set from the Lay-Z-Boy Signature Collection, walnut and black glass occasional, and dining pieces to give the space an elegant sophistication; as well as the Modern Minimalist collection, where quality materials are masterfully crafted into sleek modern pieces like the lush Mastrotto leather sofa. Shoppers may also opt for Contemporary Zen, a collection that mixes earth tones like beiges and browns to create a serene and tranquil space for the family. The look is updated to give it a modern twist.

There is also the Midcentury Modern, a space that is characterized by clean lines and accentuated with smooth curved angles. The collection includes pieces like the occasional series by Cellini. The French Country Chic collection, on the other hand, are pieces designed and made in France. The occasional series in this vignette features a tiled serigraphy on a sonoma oak wood finish lending to a French country chic. BLIMS also has the Modern American, a collection that exhibits a transitional twist on American interiors. This is highlighted by the La-Z-Boy Urban Attitudes sofa paired with a distressed occasional series featuring a herringbone wood top and brass legs. Rounding up their collection is the Scandinavian Design—simple, minimal and functional. It features a sofa series designed by Danish designer Christian Rudolph.

To further elevate its exceptional customer shopping experience, BLIMS allows shoppers to have consultations with in-house designers. This helps them achieve the best aesthetic options for their BLIMS pieces. To top it off, BLIMS offers easy payment options so customers have the capacity to pay and upgrade their furniture.

Staying on Budget While Getting the Work Gear You Need

As a specialized craftsman, you know how expensive it can be to buy the work items you need for your line of work. If you are an independent contractor or if your employer reimburses you for your work-related purchases, you may not have a lot of money to spend upfront for paint supplies and painting accessories. Rather than go over budget and end up in the red after a project is done, you can save money by shopping online for Purdy paint brushes wholesale and other work-related gear that is available for a discount. You keep more money in your bank account and profit for the jobs you are hired for instead of losing money in your trade.

Selecting Gear According to the Job at Hand

Commercial painters all take on different jobs, which is why you may need gear that is entirely different than what others in your industry routinely use. For example, if your specialty involves painting houses and small interior rooms, you may have no need for large industrial sprayers. You may be more interested in fine paint brushes, painting tape, and tarp that are practical to use when painting smaller areas.

Alternatively, if you are a commercial painter who routinely paints large industrial areas, you may do well to invest in a sprayer with a hose and nozzle that can be used for painting broader areas. This equipment can be expensive if you buy it at retail prices, however. When you need this gear on hand, but also have a limited budget, you could save money by buying it at wholesale prices. You can take on more jobs while keeping your bank account intact.

Other Painting Supplies

Painting a room of any size requires that you have certain accessories on hand to make the job easier. For example, when you want to avoid getting paint on the ceiling or trimming, you may find it helpful to use painter’s tape. The tape absorbs any paint that goes over the trim or ceiling so that when you pull it off no paint is left behind in those areas.

Likewise, you may find it easier to work if you have buckets, covers, and tarp on hand. You can work faster without having a mess to clean up afterward.

Buying wholesale work gear saves you money. You can find a wide array online.

Simple and Effective Ways to Create Ambience in Any Room of Your Choosing

Simple and Effective ways to create ambience in any room of your choosing

Ambience is important in a home, as it creates atmosphere and gives soul to every space, from bathrooms through to living rooms. Whether it’s adding texture through curtains or a pendent light from Vinci Living, providing an ambient experience in your home doesn’t have to be difficult – or expensive! Below are some simple and effective ways you can create ambience in just about any room you choose.

The Art of Lighting

Lighting can directly affect the mood of a room, so it’s a great place to start when trying to create ambience for spaces in your home. You’ll find lighting solutions everywhere, from a beautiful pendent to draw in people’s attention, to a traditional chandelier to provoke the feeling of utter luxury – there is something for everyone, and every room. Mood lighting, such as dimmable switches are also perfect for bedrooms or bathrooms where you want to create a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere.

Colour and Texture

Colour and texture can have a huge influence on a home’s natural ambience. If you’re not up for repainting an entire space, and if the wall colour is fairly neutral to begin with, use accessories. Add cushions, towels or curtains in shades of brown or cream, as the colours and the soft materials will take the edge off, making it more welcoming. Team them with accents of natural colour tones like greens, yellows or oranges, and natural materials like wicker baskets or beeswax candles to create an ambient-rich experience.

Simple Décor

The more clutter in a room, the less relaxed you’re going to feel in it. Simple really. Get rid of all unnecessary items and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can redefine a space. Wall décor is a big one as it’s easy to get carried away with family photos of the great aunts and uncles, but honestly, do you really need to display a picture of everyone? Try to limit yourself to a few smaller items, or one large item, on each wall. Also try to keep all benches and table space free from piles of ‘stuff’. Keep surfaces clean, and all furniture and accessories straight and tidy – the atmosphere of the space will be completely transformed!

Pieces of You

Including some of your favourite items or nick-knacks is a great way to create ambience in a space, as nothing makes you feel more comfortable than the things you’re most comfortable with! Framed photos, an old clock, a vase of flowers – and the best thing about these items is that they’re easy and cost-effective to include in just about any space in your home. Try to stick to a theme though, and have all items tied together with a common link or base, as too much difference will create confusion rather than promote ambience.

It doesn’t matter how high- or low-end your home is, without ambience, rooms are never going to feel quite ‘right’ to be in. They will lack comfort and heart, and no one feels relaxed in a space that is cold, confusing or overwhelming. Remember that simple, natural, and soft touches are the way to go for any room when creating ambience.

Cute Coin Bank

Looking for sonar x1 in the mall is not easy, specially if you saw some cute stuff along the way. Like this cute coin bank I saw at the mall last December:

This coin bank is 200 PhP only. It’s made of plastic and they also have coin bank that looked like an old telephone and coin bank that looked like a vintage TV. With those coin banks, you can now say that saving is fun!

New Curtains

Since I got our house a new sala set, it’s about time that my living room have a new curtains:

It’s a bit darker but I really love the cozy effect it gives on our living room. It makes the place more relaxing. Aside from the new curtains and the new sala set, I also bought some cabinets where I can display some of our photos and even  the best selection of class rings  (if ever I will get one) as well as our growing MnM’s Dispenser collections.
